Donovan plans meditation university - Yahoo! News

Donovan plans meditation university - Yahoo! News: "'For a country the size of Scotland it would take only 250 students meditating to protect Scotland from its enemies and to bring peace, to stop violence and drug abuse,' Lynch said. 'That is just a byproduct of the students meditating together.'"

FOXNews.com - Nicole Kidman Is 'Golden' in Holiday Smash - Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment

FOXNews.com - Nicole Kidman Is 'Golden' in Holiday Smash - Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment: "Now comes Kidman in “The Golden Compass,” the first part of a trilogy based on very popular novels by Phil Pullman called “His Dark Materials.” New Line Cinema, the folks who brought you “The Lord of the Rings” is behind this one, too, with Mark Ordesky again taking up the reins. I’ve now seen about a half hour of it, and without a doubt, “The Golden Compass” will be the big holiday smash hit for which Hollywood is so desperate." Sounds like an Alice In Wonderland knockoff. Also sounds like another Harry Potter. I know the author is an atheist activist. Interestingly, we are currently studying the end times at my church (Tabernacle Baptist). Two of the verses we are studying are 2 Peter 3:3-4:

3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election.: "However, the race in Iowa is very fluid. For each of the top four candidates, between 57% and 61% of their supporters say they might change their mind before the caucus is held." Huckabee is surging at the right time. Or is it too early? I'm amazed at what he's accomplished with the little money he's had compared to Romney and Guiliani.

My Way News - Microsoft Deal Values Facebook at $15B

My Way News - Microsoft Deal Values Facebook at $15B: "The $240 million price Microsoft paid for a 1.6 percent stake in Facebook demonstrates just how badly the world's largest software maker wanted to deepen its relationship with a startup that doesn't even have $200 million in annual revenue."

My Way News - Fewer Soldiers, Iraq Civilians Are Dying

My Way News - Fewer Soldiers, Iraq Civilians Are Dying: "BAGHDAD (AP) - October is on course to record the second consecutive decline in U.S. military and Iraqi civilian deaths and Americans commanders say they know why: the U.S. troop increase and an Iraqi groundswell against al-Qaida and Shiite militia extremists."

My Way News - Comcast Blocks Some Internet Traffic

My Way News - Comcast Blocks Some Internet Traffic: "The 'Net Neutrality' debate erupted in 2005, when AT&T Inc. (ATT) suggested it would like to charge some Web companies more for preferential treatment of their traffic. Consumer advocates and Web heavyweights like Google Inc. (GOOG) and Amazon Inc. cried foul, saying it's a bedrock principle of the Internet that all traffic be treated equally."

Al Gore’s inconvenient judgment - Times Online

Al Gore’s inconvenient judgment - Times Online: "Mr Justice Burton identified nine significant errors within the former presidential candidate’s documentary as he assessed whether it should be shown to school children. He agreed that Mr Gore’s film was “broadly accurate” in its presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change but said that some of the claims were wrong and had arisen in “the context of alarmism and exaggeration”."

My Way News - Al Gore, UN Panel Share Nobel for Peace

"Awarding it to Al Gore cannot be seen as anything other than a political statement. Awarding it to the IPCC is well-founded," said Bjorn Lomborg, author of "The Skeptical Environmentalist.

He criticized Gore's film as having "some very obvious mistakes, like the argument that we're going to see six meters of sea-level rise," he said.

My Way News - Jury Mulled $3.6 Million Download Award

My Way News - Jury Mulled $3.6 Million Download Award: "MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Some of the jurors who levied a $222,000 penalty last week against a Minnesota woman for illegally sharing music online would have liked her to pay the maximum $3.6 million penalty, one juror said." What if she didn't do it? What if she was framed? Did they have real proof she was file sharing the songs on Kazaa or did the jury just believe the RIAA because they weren't savvy enough in computers? Makes me think of that substitute teacher who was found guilty of showing pornography to students when it was obvious that she was just being slammed by pop-ups. It's becoming more and more dangerous to just use a computer on the Internet these days.

My Way News - GM OnStar System Could Halt Stolen Cars

My Way News - GM OnStar System Could Halt Stolen Cars: "The new technology likely gives OnStar and GM a leg-up on competitors that market vehicle tracking devices aimed at retrieving stolen vehicles, said Jack Nerad, executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book in Irvine, Calif. He predicted being able to stop a stolen car would appeal to consumers." Another great example of what a free market system can give us over a government controlled economy.

My Way News - Studies Tout Treating Mini-Strokes Fast

My Way News - Studies Tout Treating Mini-Strokes Fast: "Rothwell said that minor strokes should now be classified as medical emergencies. 'The health care system needs to be changed to respond to these people quickly,' he said. 'The current delays in treatment in the United Kingdom are no longer acceptable.'" This is what we can expect from Hilary Care. A rigid over-priced socialist health system that kills more people than it saves.

My Way News - Coordinated Iraq Suicide Attacks Kill 19

My Way News - Coordinated Iraq Suicide Attacks Kill 19: "The attackers in the oil hub 155 miles north of Baghdad drove a minibus laden with explosives into the house of a local police chief and detonated an explosives-packed Toyota Land Cruiser outside the home of a leading member of the local Awakening Council, a group of Iraqis who have turned against extremists in the area." Who's saying the Iraqi's are not standing up for themselves? This is just a single example that's made it through the Drive By's that shows there are more and more leaders risking their lives to fight against al qaeda.

My Way News - 50 Years Ago, Sputnik Changed Technology

My Way News - 50 Years Ago, Sputnik Changed Technology: "Sputnik gave birth to more than mere technology. The threat of a Soviet-dominated space spurred the U.S. government to increase tenfold money spent on science, education and research. Satellite pictures of Earth inspired an embryonic environmental movement." "Embryonic environmental movement."? That's a loaded word. How strange it found it's way into a science article.

My Way News - Download Case Should Go to Jury Today

My Way News - Download Case Should Go to Jury Today: "Copyright law allows damages of $750 to $30,000 per infringement, or up to $150,000 if the violation was 'willful.' That means Thomas, who works for the Department of Natural Resources of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, could face a judgment of anywhere from $18,000 to $3.6 million for the 24 songs." Wow. That's quite a range. There is so much money in entertainment in this country. For the common man, like me, I can't begin to understand how these lawsuits, some 26,000 according to the article, are justifiable.

Instapundit.com -

Instapundit.com -: "August 18, 2004 TOM HARKIN, FAKE WAR HERO: In an update to an earlier post, I noted some comments by Donald Sensing about Sen. Tom Harkin, most recently seen attacking the patriotism of Dick Cheney. Sensing observed: 'Harkin himself claimed to have battled Mig fighters over North Vietnam while a Navy pilot. He was a pilot, but never went to Vietnam.'"

My Way News - House Moves on Troop Withdrawal Plan

My Way News - House Moves on Troop Withdrawal Plan: "The developments underscored the difficulty facing Democrats in the Iraq debate: They lack the votes to pass legislation ordering troops home and are divided on whether to cut money for combat, despite a mandate by supporters to end the war." Um, if it was a mandate then they would have the votes. Duh. Can we say media bias? Also, Rush was being smeared today by Reid and Harkin, or better know as Clinton's twin puppets. They are trying to claim that Rush has denigrated the troops. Bull@#$! These idiots are in for a big surprise. You don't try to smear the most popular radio talk show host and get away with it. I'm embarrassed that Harkin is from my state. This is not going away any time soon.

My Way News - High Court Won't Hear Birth Control Case: "'If the state can compel church entities to subsidize contraceptives in violation of their religious beliefs, it can compel them to subsidize abortions as well,' the groups said in urging the court to take their case. 'And if it can compel church entities to subsidize abortions, it can require hospitals owned by churches to provide them.'"

My Way News - US, Iraqi Civilian Deaths Fall Sharply

BAGHDAD (AP) - Deaths among American forces and Iraqi civilians fell dramatically last month to their lowest levels in more than a year, according to figures compiled by the U.S. military, the Iraqi government and The Associated Press.

The decline signaled a U.S. success in bringing down violence in Baghdad and surrounding regions since Washington completed its infusion of 30,000 more troops on June 15.
