Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election.: "During the month of June, the number of people identifying themselves as Republicans increased and the number of Democrats was little changed. That’s the first time in 2007 that the number of Republicans has increased."

Rasmussen Reports™: The most comprehensive public opinion coverage ever provided for a mid-term election.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows that former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani remain in a virtual tie atop the race for the Republican Presidential nomination. Thompson attracts support from 25% of Likely Republican Primary Voters while Giuliani is the top choice for 24%. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Arizona Senator John McCain are each preferred by 12% (see daily history). Among the second tier candidates, Arizona Senator Sam Brownback attracts support from 3%, Mike Huckabee is favored by 2% and four other candidates (Ron Paul, Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, Tommy Thompson, and Sam Brownback) split 4% of the vote. Seventeen percent (17%) are undecided.
Giuliani/Thompson 2008 Republican ticket. Giuliani for President, Thompson for Vice President. I just want to get it out there as my prediction. I also predict that Hillary will not pick Obama for her VP.

My Way News - Airports Warned About Terror Dry Runs

My Way News - Airports Warned About Terror Dry Runs: "The bulletin said the passengers carrying the suspicious items seized since September included men and women and that initial investigation had not linked them with criminal or terrorist organizations. But it added that most of their explanations for carrying the items were suspicious and some were still under investigation. The four seizures were described this way: - San Diego, July 7. A U.S. person - either a citizen or a foreigner legally here - checked baggage containing two ice packs covered in duct tape. The ice packs had clay inside them rather than the normal blue gel. - Milwaukee, June 4. A U.S. person's carryon baggage contained wire coil wrapped around a possible initiator, an electrical switch, batteries, three tubes and two blocks of cheese. The bulletin said block cheese has a consistency similar to some explosives. - Houston, Nov. 8, 2006. A U.S. person's checked baggage contained a plastic bag with a 9-volt battery, wires, a block of brown clay-like minerals and pipes. - Baltimore, Sept. 16, 2006. A couple's checked baggage contained a plastic bag with a block of processed cheese taped to another plastic bag holding a cellular phone charger."

My Way News - U.S. Ready for Direct Talks With Iran

My Way News - U.S. Ready for Direct Talks With Iran

WASHINGTON (AP) - The United States is ready to hold new direct talks with Iran on the deteriorating security situation in Iraq, where the Bush administration accused Tehran of supporting Shia insurgents, the State Department said Tuesday.

"We think that given the situation in Iraq and given Iran's continued behavior that is leading to further instability in Iraq, that it would be appropriate to have another face-to-face meeting," spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.

He said no date for the talks, which would be held in Baghdad, had yet been arranged.

Translation: We know what you're doing, we now have solid evidence of it, and this is your last warning to cease and desist. We will take out your training camps and anything else we feel is necessary to ensure our safety. I don't think we can sustain a full occupation of Iran. So, my guess is we intend to wipe out as much as we can of their attack capability (especially missiles). This will include destroying any known training facilities, and as much of their military as possible from the air. We most likely have already been positioning ourselves to repel any attack, but I don't think we would move ground forces into Iran. As a bonus for the rest of the world and us, we will destroy their nuclear plant and any capability to enrich uranium. If we are going to do this, we have to do it this year. Starting this during a presidential election will guarantee failure for us. So, my best guess is it will happen by the end of November or never. By the way, I wanted to get this out, there has been attempts to better define victory in Iraq. Our victory in Iraq should be complete and total destruction of terrorists. That's it. The definition of terrorist for us should be anyone desiring to kill Americans or our allies and willing to act on it. The president made a miscalculation during the illegal immigration fight and his support has eroded because of it to dangerous levels. The thing that angered me the most is this question "So, do you expect us to deport 12 million plus people now?" So now the number of people who break our laws will determine what's right? Isn't that called "Mob rule"?

Pace: Another troop buildup possible - Yahoo! News: "BAGHDAD - The U.S. military's top general said Monday that the Joint Chiefs of Staff is weighing a range of possible new directions in Iraq, including, if President Bush deems it necessary, an even bigger troop buildup." They're going to have a field day with this. Dem's will now continue to claim how incompetent our military leaders our and that only they (dem's) can lead us out of this Bush disaster. (But of course, they'll conveniently leave out what they would actually do.)

iPhone buyers have no regrets - Yahoo! News

iPhone buyers have no regrets - Yahoo! News

Early iPhone owners are overwhelmingly happy with their devices, a survey out Friday says, and Apple (AAPL) and AT&T (T) are luring customers from rivals as a result. In one of the first such studies, 90% of 200 owners said they were "extremely" or "very" satisfied with their phone. And 85% said they are "extremely" or "very" likely to recommend the device to others, says the online survey conducted and paid for by market researcher Interpret of Santa Monica, Calif. The firm surveyed 1,000 cellphone users July 6-10.
"Off the charts." Better go buy Apple stock. Google and Apple should get together. That combination may indeed be the final straw that breaks the Microsoft/Intel camel's back. Google/Apple is the new guard, Microsoft/Intel are the old guard. Yahoo is becoming the odd man out.

War protester Sheehan announces plan to challenge House leader - International Herald Tribune: "CRAWFORD, Texas: Leaving her former peace camp near U.S. President George W. This is just bizarre. I remember this story and it seems impossible for the deliveryman to have been in on the robbery. This will be an interesting story to follow for sure.

My Way News - White House Awaits September Iraq Review

My Way News - White House Awaits September Iraq Review: "Democrats said the only way Baghdad and its neighbors would take more responsibility in Iraq would be if the U.S. starts to pull out." I believe this indicates a possible new strategy for democrats, that pulling out is the only way for Iraqis to take responsibility. This is a trial balloon by their willing accomplices in the media to see if it sticks.

My Way News - Dems Call for Combat to End by 2008

My Way News - Dems Call for Combat to End by 2008: "WASHINGTON (AP) - A senior Democrat said Tuesday it was obvious the Iraqi government has made no progress and the only way to propel it was to begin pulling out U.S. troops. In a countermove, President Bush's national security adviser Stephen Hadley and war adviser Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute arrived on Capitol Hill to consult with members. Sen. Carl Levin, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, proposed legislation with Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., that would order President Bush to begin pulling out troops in 120 days and end combat by April 30, 2008." We all wish we could just wave a magic wand and declare "it's over". The democrats have been watching too much Harry Potter, because we don't live in a world like that. The consequences have been articulated very well what is going to happen if we surrender Iraq to al qaeda. Al qaeda will turn Iraq into an islamic state of their vision. They will use it as their base to launch operations to kill America. No matter how you feel about the president, we must understand that this is a war that our enemy will not quit. They must be destroyed or else we will. The truth is that it will be necessary for us to stay in Iraq for a long time. Most likely for at least a generation, maybe 30 years. The middle east must be transformed from it's current state of hatred and bitterness towards Israel and the U.S. And this will take at minimum one generation to begin the transformation. The enemy has been allowed to brain wash their children with this hatred for generations. It will take a long to time to teach them not to hate.

My Way News - Death Sentence for 10 Women's Murders: "LOS ANGELES (AP) - A pizza deliveryman was sentenced to death Tuesday for the murders of 10 women and an unborn fetus during the 1980s and '90s in neighborhoods plagued by a crack cocaine epidemic. A jury in May recommended the death penalty for Chester Turner, and Superior Court Judge William R. Pounders agreed. 'I don't think any jury would arrive at a different conclusion and would, in any court, demand a death penalty,' Pounders said. Turner declined to comment after several of the victims' relatives spoke at the hearing. The case will automatically be appealed."

My Way News - Bush Wipes Away Libby's Prison Sentence

WASHINGTON (AP) - Just when things looked darkest for I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, when prison seemed all but certain, President Bush wiped away the former White House aide's 2 1/2-year sentence in the CIA leak case.

Bush's move came Monday, just five hours after a federal appeals panel ruled that Libby could not delay his prison term. His prospects for an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court seemed bleak. The former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, Libby was just waiting for a date to surrender.

After months of sidestepping pardon questions, Bush stepped in. He did not issue a pardon but erased a prison sentence that he felt was just too harsh.

My Way News - U.S.: Iran Helped in Deadly Iraq Strike

My Way News - U.S.: Iran Helped in Deadly Iraq Strike

BAGHDAD (AP) - Iranian forces helped plan one of the most sophisticated militant assaults of the Iraq war - a January raid in which gunmen posed as an American security team and launched an attack that killed five U.S. soldiers, an American general said Monday.

U.S. military spokesman Brig. Gen. Kevin J. Bergner also accused Iran of using its Lebanese ally, the Shiite militia Hezbollah, as a "proxy" to arm Shiite militants in Iraq.

The claims were an escalation in U.S. accusations that Iran is fueling Iraq's violence, which the government in Tehran has denied. It was also the first time the U.S. military has said Hezbollah has a direct role - which, if true, would bring a dangerous new player into Iraq's conflict.

Hezbollah has denied any activities in Iraq, saying it operates only in Lebanon.
