Jesse Jackson Sr. getting paid back

I think this whole Blago scandal is really payback for Jackson's off-
air comments about cutting off Obama's manhood. Look who's getting
punished, Jesse Jackson Jr. It looks to me Jr. has or had a real
chance being appointed to Obama's senate seat. Now that we know Jr.
wasn't on the list as a prefered replacement, and Fitzgerald is a goon
for liberals, I think the drive-bys might actually start looking at
this. (I can dream still.)

BBC NEWS | Americas | State governor seized in US probe

BBC NEWS | Americas | State governor seized in US probe: "The FBI has released a 76-page affidavit detailing the charges against Mr Blagojevich, which includes transcripts of his telephone conversations intercepted by court-authorised wiretaps over the the last month. In the conversations, Mr Blagojevich discussed offering Mr Obama's senate seat in return for getting a well-paid position at a nonprofit organisation or a group affiliated with trades unions, according to the affidavit. He also allegedly talked about getting his wife Patti placed on a corporate board. 'The breadth of corruption laid out in these charges is staggering,' said US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald in a statement. 'They allege that Blagojevich put a for sale sign on the naming of a United States senator,' he added." Doesn't this qualify this guy for a cabinet position?

FOXNews.com - Record 1 in 10 American Homeowners in Foreclosure or a Month Behind in Payments - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News: "WASHINGTON — A record one in 10 American homeowners with a mortgage were either at least a month behind on their payments or in foreclosure at the end of September as the source of housing market pressure shifted to the crumbling U.S. economy." I went back and looked at previous recessions to see how the stock market reacted. Many times it resulted in about a 30% drop in the Dow. I then went back to the Great Depression. That resulted in a 87% drop! If we are truly on the cusp of a second depression of the likes of GDI, then can we expect a similar plunge? If so, that would mean the Dow will bottom out at about 1800! Now that seems highly unlikely (I bet they thought the same thing in 1930) but it could drop somewhere between 30% and 90%. It's already over 30%. If I split the difference that means the Dow will bottom out at 60% of its most recent high of 14000, which is 5600. We might not reach that for another 6 months. On the other hand, this might be worse than GDI. Why, because the US government has pumped more money into the economy, maybe $4 trillion so far, than it ever has before, combined and adjusted for inflation and the effect has been negligible. Of course, I don't know why anyone would have expected otherwise, it's all phony money because it was never actually earned.

Fuel-cell powered devices getting closer (AP) by AP: Yahoo! Tech

Fuel-cell powered devices getting closer (AP) by AP: Yahoo! Tech: "Consumers are used to getting a free battery charge from any electrical outlet, so refill cartridges would have to be 'as ubiquitous as cigarettes and bottles of Coke in every 7-Eleven' in order for fuel cells to take off, Kohut said." The more I read about fuel cells, the less impressed I am with them. It almost seems like a step back from what we have now. The article talks about a fuel cell that would be capable of providing 30 hours of talk time on a cell phone. That sounds great, but at a likely cost of $100 to $150 with refill cartridges costing $1 to $3. That seems silly to me when compared to the cost to recharge my battery (which might as well be free because I never really see that cost).
