Gov't says 'mass layoffs' soared in January

Gov't says 'mass layoffs' soared in January: "The Labor Department reported that mass layoffs, or job cuts of 50 or more by a single employer, increased to 2,227 in January, up almost 50 percent from the same month last year. More than 235,000 workers were fired in last month's cuts."

House OKs $410B bill to boost domestic programs

You have got to be JOKING! I think the Democrat's plan is to kill us off with heart attacks! We have ZERO money for this. ZERO! We are going to have a D E F I C I T of T W O T R I L L I O N D O L L A R S under the first year of Obama. We...have...no...money. The amount of OUR money these zealots spend this year is going to end up being $5 trillion. Idiots. House OKs $410B bill to boost domestic programs: "WASHINGTON – The Democratic-controlled House approved $410 billion legislation Wednesday that boosted domestic programs, bristled with earmarks and chipped away at policies left behind by the Bush administration. The vote was 245-178, largely along party lines. Republicans assailed the measure as too costly — particularly on the heels of a $787 billion stimulus bill that President Barack Obama signed last week. But Democrats jabbed back."

Letter to Senator Harkin

Dear Senator Harkin: You claim "(t)he economic recovery package will save or create 37,000 jobs in Iowa..." Can you please tell me how you come to that conclusion? I would also like to know where the near $800 BILLION will come from. I believe the spendulus package WILL COST 37,000 jobs in Iowa due to failing companies and bankrupt families trying to pay for it. You have voted to mortgage mine, my children, my children's children, and who knows how many generations more, futures. You and your cohorts in Congress should be ashamed. Who bails out the government? Oh yea, myself and the millions of other taxpayers. I've given up hope that you will ever come to the understanding that everything you spend comes from people who work for a living. Government produces nothing but dependency and despair. You and President Obama are pushing this nation into a real depression. Please do Iowa and the rest of the nation a favor and retire. Sincerely Thomas Clayton Pope

To Do software

I'm looking at different To Do software. I primarily am going to compare Toodledo, Remember The Milk, and Google Tasks. First impressions: Toodledo has endless features but seems spartan; RTM is very nice looking; and Google Tasks is too primitive but is definitely simple enough. These are all "cloud" packages. I think this will be the way I'll go because I want access anywhere I do not want to worry about my computer crashing and losing all of my data. I am mindful of the security risk with cloud computing.

Dow ends at lowest close in more than 6 years

I knew they would come up with some other reason than the truth, "Tuesday ... the index tumbled 300 points on worries about the economy and the stability of banks in Eastern Europe." Um, no, it plunged because there is no confidence with investors that the government porkulus will do anything but cause more harm. The exact same thing occurred with the last so-called stimulus. The only people who think this has any chance are the poor, not-so-bright. And they probably could care less about the national economy, they are more concerned with the new kitchens and cars they are going to get. Dow ends at lowest close in more than 6 years: "The Dow had been threatening to break through the November bottom since Tuesday, when the index tumbled 300 points on worries about the economy and the stability of banks in Eastern Europe. Stocks had barely finished above the November low on Tuesday and Wednesday."

BBC NEWS | Business | Obama's housing plan 'to help 9m'

Boy, do I feel stupid for working my you know what off and paying my mortgage. Because of that, I get to help out those who were smart by being lazy and not paying their mortgage. Maybe his name is not Barak but rather Bizarro (I'll combine them and say Barako). He's making the achievers into losers and the losers into achievers. BBC NEWS | Business | Obama's housing plan 'to help 9m': "The plan will provide refinancing to four to five million 'responsible homeowners' on the verge of defaulting."

They forgot "BIGGEST MARKET KILLER" in all of world history. The markets are all plunging once again, people are being laid off in droves, businesses are failing left and right, all because of this. The question is, will the media report it? Obama to sign stimulus bill today in Denver: "WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is poised to sign into law the most sweeping economic package in decades, a rescue plan designed to create millions of jobs, spur consumer spending and revive the nation's outlook."

Silence is Golden? Burris Testimony May Not be Perjury, But Whole Truth Wasn't Offered - Presidential Politics | Political News - FOXNews.com

Burris should resign immediately. If he omitted this, what else did he omit? It's time for Democrats to be held accountable for their deceit. Especially now that they are in charge... of everything. Silence is Golden? Burris Testimony May Not be Perjury, But Whole Truth Wasn't Offered - Presidential Politics | Political News - FOXNews.com: "The senator filed an affidavit with the panel on Feb. 5 noting that Blagojevich's brother, Rob Blagojevich, solicited him for donations to the governor's campaign before he was appointed, a point Burris never mentioned during his Jan. 8 testimony."

The Trillion Dollar Deficit

Barack whines he's inherited a trillion dollar deficit, but look at how he handles it. He guarantees a 2 trillion dollar deficit. Like I've been saying, he is going to push this recession into a depression, but keep blaming it on previous administrations. That's going to wear thin. I've also seen he's numbers are not looking so spectacular lately, see Rasmussen. They are still good, but they are dropping pretty fast. Clinton had the same problem. The more people realize he believes its only him and the government that can save us, the more people will turn.

BBC NEWS | Americas | US Senate approves stimulus plan

BBC NEWS | Americas | US Senate approves stimulus plan: "The US Senate has passed an economic stimulus plan expected to cost some $838bn (£573bn)." They pass this and the markets start tanking. The only people that have confidence this will do anything but hurt our economy is Barack and the drones. And I also heard it's going to a trillion before it gets to him.
